Biography

SugarBitch is here to destroy your preconceived notions of what modern popular music can be. Formed in Venice Beach in 2000 by Michael Jost (guitar) and dynamic vocalist Nia Mondy, the band has been spreading their hypnotic brand of improvised rock and soul all over Southern California at such legendary venues as the House of Blues, Key Club, the Roxy and the Viper Room. Currently SugarBitch features Steve Andino on bass and David Rodgers on drums. Striving to save the world from another era of flash in the pan teen queens and over hyped rock/rap screamers, SugarBitch is ready not just to take on the scene, but change it completely. Bringing in elements of Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Parlament, James Brown and Billie Holiday and combining it with the pure rock of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin plus SugarBitch reaches for the sky by infusing the psychedelic elements of such bands as Pink Floyd and The Beatles. Michael Jost: guitarist, composer, producer.
Michael's music is a travel in time & space fueled by the
expierience he gathered in playing & recording with many
artists from all over the world.
Michael's music is the result of his passion for music and his
instrument.

Michael grew up in Germany and enjoyed an education in classical music throughout all his life.
His main instrument is the guitar with all the different colours and emotions. His influences are very multicolored and
involve different styles, continents and time periods.
He also enjoyed an education as soundengineer and worked a lot on both sides of the studio window. This led him to work as a producer for his own music and the music of many other artists.
